Our bagpipes are quality made by the most reputable manufacturers in Pakistan. The quoted price on all Mid-East pipes includes two sets of reeds, bottle of bag seasoning (sealer), hank of hemp (thread for joints), and Learn to Play the Bagpipes, by R.T. Sheppard. The bag is made of hide. Please note that half-size pipes (also called session pipes) look more like 7/8-size pipes, and are ideal for young people or small-sized adults who find the fullsized pipes a bit large. The miniature pipes look more like halfsize ones; their smaller drones give off a smaller sound. These pipes are a very good buy for the price, and look nice as well.

Bagpipe comment: The difference in sound quality between bagpipes is the type of wood that is used to construct them. Rosewood is the most common type of wood used in bagipes and offers a good tone for any beginner. Cocus is the next step up, it provides a little richer tone compared to the Rosewood but also costs more. Blackwood is the most expensive type of wood for bagpipes but offers the best sound. Most beginners begin with Rosewood made bagpipes, and after a while of playing usually make the step up to the more expensive woods. Like any instrument, beginners may not hear the differences in wood sound. It is highly recommended that every beginner obtain a practice chanter with their set.
