The main difference between sitars is that the standard sitar has thinner frets and a more narrow fret board. This is supposed to be easier for students to learn to play. The deluxe and professional models are pretty much the same structurally. The professional models have the Radha Krishna Sharma name on them. The fancy looks just like the deluxe with the fine overlay on the main toomba. There is no name on the deluxe. We have two purchasing directors in India who contract for the generic sitars. They do a very good job. All sitars come with double toombas and plywood cases to fit. All sitars come with cases and extra strings and mizrabs.
